Hi all, Sam here,
I am excited to announce that a new demo for City of Dust is now available to play! Here are some of the changes introduced to the current build:
- FULL controller support!
- Coyote timing when jumping.
- Sound effects when picking up collectibles.
- Options to mute the in-game music and enable Fullscreen.
- An additional grade for collecting orbs.
- Fixed jumping animations.
- New victory screen, built for speed runners to screenshot their time.
- HUD rework.
- various bug fixes.
The development process of this build was focussed on addressing some of the feedback I was given, as I want the game to be as optimised as possible to streamline the development process, and improve the overall game-feel. This naturally involved making a start on cleaning and organising the rat's nest that is my code, as the original build for the game was metaphorically held together by a paperclip and sheer willpower. I will continue to focus on optimisation in future builds, alongside some new levels and features.
